Edward V (now 50 (Bad)) and Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York (now 47 (Good)) disappeared from England in 1483. Their uncle (Lord Protector: Richard, Duke of Gloucester) intended to lock them in London Tower after the death of their father, King Edward IV of England. The Lord Protector intended to leave them there so he could rule England in their place.
The princes emerged in Nomae-Ralo, and almost immediately realized they had gained supernatural powers. With no way home, they decided to rule the major kingdoms of Netokli. Edward felt it was more their duty than anything, them being of royal blood.
2 Kingdoms ruled a majority of Netokli; Gatecia and Linia. Edward immediately knew they should be the rulers of these kingdoms, as their royal bloodline would have demanded. At first Richard had trouble with the thought of taking over this new land’s kingdoms. He felt they didn’t belong. But… Richard (just after they first arrived) fell in love with a Zylrel noblewoman named Gweyr. Their love had to be kept secret, for Richard wasn’t of noble heritage. Edward manipulated his brother to make him believe that part of becoming a king would allow him to freely be with Gweyr. And so… the Princes claimed the crowns of both kingdoms in a bloodless coup, a peaceful transition of power. Once again aided by their powers and prowess.
And so they became King Richard III of the Kingdom of Gatecia and King Edward V of the Kingdom of Linia.
They gained their crowns 27 years ago, so it’s now universally known as Kings Year 27.
Princess Shalana Plantagenet, Duchess of York
Daughter to King Richard III and Rose Queen Gweyr. 17 years old. Tends to be somewhat rebellious, wants to explore her world. Wants to help Strangers, maybe even fight against the Enders. Parents want her to be a 'proper' princess. But whenever she can, she slips out of the palace to explore the 'real world'. To walk amongst commoners without being recognized. Which isn't easy for her. Extremely proficient with a bow. Can hold her own in hand to hand combat, swordsmanship. Likes anything sweet, especially likes any kind of pastries.
Alter-Ego: Edea Qiris. A hunter/ranger from the small village outside of Gatecia, Redhost. She enjoys bow and arrow competitions, and hates killing. She was engaged to be married, but her fiance (a Maleese man named Ranjan) ran off with a Zylrel woman named Suurya. She has 2 older brothers that live in Linia, and her parents both passed away. They were doctors working in Veda camps.
Klara Ross. Born in 1827 in Red River, Kansas. Father worked on the docks, usually loading cotton onto ships or general maintenance. The family was very poor, her mother having been killed by Native Americans when she was 8. She drowned in 1839, and arrived as a Stranger with the ability to understand any language, and speak any language.
Count of St. Germain. Born 1691, died 1784. St. Germain used a variety of names and titles, an accepted practice amongst royalty and nobility at the time. These include the Marquis de Montferrat, Comte Bellamarre, Chevalier Schoening, Count Weldon, Comte Soltikoff, Graf Tzarogy and Prinz Ragoczy.
Appeared around 35 years ago, forming the Red Shield guild about 5 years later. With the stated intention of studying the Strangers phenomenon. But at the same time, St. Germaine has been keeping artifacts found with the Strangers and using them to help fortify his army. One of the first relics was Bonny and Clyde's guns. 2 .30-06 Browning Automatic Rifles. He uses current tech and mysticism to make them work and have ammunition.
White Guild: Edward would rationalize that he created White Shield to provide Strangers a place in this new world. Employment, resources, and a purpose without the probing questions/evaluation mandated to the Red Shield
"That's why I named it the White Shield Guard. A clean slate for their new world"
Except they are more open about being militaristic in operation under the cover of a 'peacekeeping' organization and use rankings to reflect that. Squire, Knight, Paladin.
He will offer them to become part of his personal White Shield Guard.
Membership affords them immunity from questioning, detainment, etc by the Red Shield and a good deal of protection when they meet other factions
Or if they turn that down he'll be 'courteous' and provide them with a bed to sleep in, food, and access to the library so they can get a better idea of what they want to do in this world.
The Deity who populated Nomae-Ralo with races from other worlds originally, introduced a new race decades ago that has been keeping their existence secret ever since. They are in essence 'Vampires' but have none of the religous vulnerabilities or sun weakness.
They sustain themselves on blood, can live to be centuries old so the first ones to be brought in are still around. But the thing is, in their world they were hunted, so of course they assume if others knew what they were the cycle of their homeworld would repeat.
In universe they call their race The Orlock Clan, of which Genessa is a member. She only drinks enough to maintain normal function, hence why she's pale and when introduced her relatives are more robust, colorful.
A peacekeeping council was formed, with ambassadors from each of the native races (save for the Avados). Their headquarters is on Maagin, a less than hospitable territory that is mostly deserts (some violent).
