[/center] [floatleft] [/floatleft] Air Temple Island…. Night has finally fallen upon this little island, and many of it’s inhabitants are fast asleep. With the notable exception of two. A young Airbender in training and her best friend. The Airbender to be is named Korra… and she is to be the Avatar. Most call her the Avatar already, but that’s not really a true statement. For the Avatar is able to control all of the elements… not ¾ of them. At the tender age of 4 it was discovered that she was indeed the next Avatar, her birth coincided to the moment of the previous Avatar’s death. She is Avatar Aang reborn, but she is vastly different than Aang. Chief amongst those differences is the lack of Airbending. Korra stands amongst the trees of one of the many small forests here upon the island, moving over and over again in the same Airbending stances she has been trained in. She knows the stances by heart, she can do them in her sleep. But no matter how much she tries or how angry she gets at herself, she has never been able to Airbend. Her body moves rhythmically from one stance to the next, her arms moving in circular sweeping motions. She’s been out here for almost 3 hours now, and she can feel herself getting tired. The only onlooker Korra has allowed out here with her is her best friend… the polar bear dog named Naga. Normally these creatures are feared and hunted by the Water Tribes, their fur most often used for clothing. Korra is the only one to have ever tamed one of these fearsome beasts, having come across an abandoned Naga as a pup when she was a child herself. Ever since then, they have been inseparable. At the moment, Naga lays at the edge of the clearing Korra trains in, her head resting on her paws. She knows what her human is trying to do is important, and she hopes she achieves whatever she’s trying to do.. but she can feel Korra’s frustration. And her wariness. Naga sits up a little and lets out a long yawn, and Korra abruptly stops her exercises. She huffs as she looks up towards the night sky, and then towards Naga. “I’m never going to get this. I’m such a failure.” Korra then slowly moves towards Naga, her shoulders slumped. Naga’s tail sways a little in the grass as she lets out a soft whimper, nuzzling against Korra once her human is close enough. Korra smiles faintly and rubs Naga’s muzzle, leaning lightly against her. “You’re right.. I’ll just rest for a little bit.. then get back to it.. I can’t give up, can I?” she looks into Naga’s eyes as she smiles weakly, and it’s almost like Naga is trying to encourage her. Korra runs her hand through Naga’s snow white fur as she moves to her side, and slumps down in the grass there next to her, leaning against her. Naga curls around Korra a little, and Korra’s eyes stare up at the stars as she frowns to herself. Why can’t she get this.. why can’t she become the Avatar… why can’t she Airbend? She’s done everything in her power… all of the other elements came so easily to her… but in all her 18 years she has yet to Airbend even a little. Korra closes her eyes as she sighs, enjoying the warmth of Naga’s fur. It takes only a few moments before she is asleep, Naga also falling asleep with her. And when they wake… they are no longer on Air Temple Island. [glow=green,2,300]~~…your purpose..~~ ~~…of all worlds…~~ ~~…wonders….~~[/glow] Pram Korra’s eyes flutter open as she lays still against Naga, her hand coming up to help block out the bright sun. Why is it so bright in the forest? The trees block out a lot of the light. But as she comes around… she realizes she is no longer in the forest on Air Temple Island. With a gasp her eyes spring open and she vaults to her feet, her hands in fists at her sides. With a low growl Naga pushes herself to her feet, knowing this isn’t right. Korra’s blue eyes scan the world around her… it’s some kind of grassy plain with weird broken statues or something… it almost reminds her of the Earth Kingdom.. but it’s nowhere she’s seen. She glances over her shoulder seeing Naga there, and that gives her a little comfort. Who would want to kidnap her and Naga and just deposit them in the Earth Kingdom? And above that… how did someone kidnap them both and deposit them in the Earth Kingdom? “Hello?” She calls out as she takes a few steps forward, Naga staying close to her. Her heart is racing, there is panic and fear there. But she keeps it under the surface. Could this be the spirit world? No… no that doesn’t make sense. She’s never been able to get there.. and Naga wouldn’t be here either. So where the heck is she?
[floatleft] [/floatleft]Kazuto Kirigaya was a boy who was one of the survivors or the VRMMORPG horror story that was, Sword Art Online. For over two years, he and thousands of other players were trapped in a virtual reality game that was turned into a death game by its creator. Under the alias Kirito, he quickly became known throughout the game as The Black Swordsman. Now, he was attending a school speically developed for the students that were trapped inthe deathgame for over two years. over that time, he found friendship, conflict, and even romance with a girl named Asuna Yuuki. After one period, one fateful day however, he felt happy, content as he relaxed on a bench, waiting for Asuna. He slowly drifted off into sleep, as voices went through his head "This life is but a dream..."[floatright] [/floatright]When he regained consciousness he found himself face down on the grass, in an all too familiar attire, with an all too familiar weight on his back. In an instant he tried pinching himself, slapping himself, everything he could. He wasn't waking up, he wasn't dreaming. Was the last few months all a dream and he was just waking up? was he still stuck in the nightmare that was Sword Art Online? He drew the sword on his back, a blade that looked all too familiar. He then remained crouched in the grass having silent tears to himself, not wanting to believe it at all, for now, unaware of the girl and her polarbear dog that was near by.
[floatleft] [/floatleft]“This doesn’t feel.. right…” she utters to herself as she slowly takes in the landscape around her. She moves into a Firebender defensive stance… her body relaxed but ready to move into action… her feet one in front of the other, her upper body leaning forward ever so slightly, one hand at her hip and the other extended in front of her. Some say such a stance almost looks like a spider snake getting ready to pounce. Her body turns slowly, remaining in the stance as she tries to figure this out. Naga begins to move slowly, taking a few strides away from Korra. She sniffs at the air, trying also to determine where they are. “Not too far, Naga.” Korra says as she looks across the green field, and Naga glances at her with her words, moving back towards her. “I feel almost like… I’m out of it. I mean.. like I’m dreaming. I’m here, but I’m not. But I can’t be dreaming. This can’t be a dream.” She doesn’t know it yet, but there’s a very real reason she doesn’t feel right. She is the Avatar, the physical bridge between the physical world and the spirit world. She is connected to the spirit world, even if she has never gazed upon it. But now.. it’s a new world, both physical and spiritual. And her body tries to adjust. Naga’s head suddenly perks up, along with her ears. She sniffs at the air, her tail swaying a little. Korra looks towards her out of the corner of her eyes. “What is it? You smell something?” Naga begins to pant softly, looking in the general direction of the newly arrived Black Swordsman. Korra of course recognizes Naga’s behavior, knowing she has a scent. And right now that’s all she has to go on. She sprints towards Naga and reaches up, grasping her saddle and slipping her foot into the stirrup. She pulls herself up into the saddle effortlessly (though it’s actually fairly high up) and she grasps the polar bear dog’s reins. “Go, Naga!” Naga turns her large body a little, and they take off. Despite her size, Naga seems to be able to move fairly fast. At least as fast as some of the cars in Republic City… so they found out the first time they arrived there. The approach a part of the plains that has high grass all along it, and Korra frowns as she looks towards it. Naga’s pace slows to a walk as Korra draws the reins back a little. Her instincts tell her something is here… or someone. An ambush maybe. She squints a little as she looks towards the grass, unable to see the swordsman as yet. She just got there, and already she’s tired of this game. She slides off of Naga’s back as she now calls out, her hands in fists at her sides. “Okay whoever’s out there, come out right now! If I have to look for you, I’m gonna bust you up something awful!” She’s really bad at making threats. She walks slowly, cautiously, towards the grass as she frowns, her head bowed down a little. Naga follows her, sniffing constantly at the ground and perhaps 10 feet behind.
[floatleft] [/floatleft]A relatively short distance away, Kirito heard someone calling out. He sat up to look, and the first thing to catch his eye was this wold creature that he truly had never seen before. It looked like some cross between a..wolf..or a dog..and a bear? He fell back onto his arms startled, almsot intimidated by the beast, but then there was a person that caught his eyes..and damn..he may have had more time to admire the fact that she was pretty cute if not for the bear thing. Kirito saw no HP gauges or even alignment icons...in fact there was no Heads Up Display at all. what was going on here?! for the moment he sat up a little more, calling out to the woman "hey are you a beast tamer? Where am I?!" Kirito was getting very confused at the situation. Why him? of all people why did this have to happen to him?he was just getting settled into a relatively normal life again...but what was this now..was this another game? or was this something much else... He wondered all of this while trying to remain focused more on the woman than on the beast. As she approached and came into clearer view, Kirito couldn't help but blush, thinking that she really was a stunning figure to behold
Naga’s ears perk up as she hears movement, her sense of hearing much much more attuned than Korra’s ever could be. She lets out a low rumbling growl as she takes a few galloping steps forward, putting herself more to Korra’s side. Korra keeps a frown on her face as she searches the grass, her hands in fists at her sides. And then she sees something.. a figure. A young man… Naga takes another step forward, bearing her fangs in warning to Kirito. Korra’s hand comes up and rests on Naga’s muzzle, and instantly she calms down as Korra speaks softly. “Easy, girl.” Korra’s hand falls from Naga’s muzzle, and now she speaks as she starts to move towards Kirito with purposeful strides. “I don’t know exactly what you mean, but I’ll tell you what I am.” She stops about 20 feet in front of Kirito, and she turns so her side is more facing him. “I’m the Avatar. And if you and your pals think you got me trapped or whatever here, you’re dead wrong. Chump.” Part of the reason Korra has yet to really connect with her spiritual self is her lack of patience, her need to act even when it’s not a good idea. Like now. In a movement that takes no more than a second or so, her feet suddenly move to shoulder length apart, her knees bent a little. Her arms extend slightly in front of her, her right hand raised up more in front of her, her left drawn back more towards her hip, her palms facing him. With a ‘huff’ sound she suddenly slams one of her feet into the ground, her arms thrusting forward and up. And as she does this, the earth all around Kirito rumbles, and a wall of solid stone rises behind him and to his sides, about 5 feet from where he stands. So this way it seems she is giving him no choice but to come at her, blocking his other venues of movement.. or keeping his imagined allies away from ambushing her. She relaxes her firm stance as she speaks again, pointing towards him. “Now start explaining, or I start pounding!”

Kirito is taken back a moment. He sees this woman in a certain stance. Was she a martial artist? It was certainly no stance he had seen before. There is aggression in her voice, it was almost like she was itching for a fight. she then claims herself to be an Avatar, like it was some kind of grand title. This only confused Kirito even more before he sees her stance abruptly change, this time actually moving. The stance and movements, wide, steady, and powerful. This happening while she erects walls of pure earth around him, causing his head to look up and around the walls.
"H-hold on! what the hell is an Avatar?! I swear I'm with no one, I have no idea how I got here, and how the hell did you do that?! are you some kind of earth mage?!" He didn't get up, crawling back into the box prison. This didn't add up in his head. If he was somehow in SAO...There wasn't any magic, that was the core design of the game, and if he was in ALfhelm Online...well she certainly didn't look like a fairy. That bear wolf this was a beat he had never seen in any directory before.
"Look, I don't want to fight, I have no idea what the hell is going on! I was just a kid in school who passed out, and now suddenly I'm here, even my clothing is different!" In his distress he felt his fairy wings spawn onto his back. This made even less sense! He looked like his final avatar in SAO, but also had skills from ALO? Despite the wings he stayed put Thinking wisely, at least for the moment, to not put his hands on his blades. I'm sure we can talk this out!"
As good looking as this woman was, she was pretty damn intimidating what else could he say to help her realize he wasn't an enemy? "M-my name is Kasuto Kirigaya, but you can just call me Kirito. I don't want to fight, and I'm just as clueless as you are, I have no friends here..Its just me.."

Korra remains staring at Kirito, her head bowed down a little. Yes, she probably jumped the gun. But that seems to be her stock in trade. The intimidation she seems to exude isn’t accidental, either. She was raised to take care of herself (for the most part), and sometimes that means being abrasive when you have to be. And that’s what she saw here. She’s in some strange land, suddenly in the presence of this sword wielding young man. He can’t be older than she is… or he’s really close to how old she is.
He says his name is Kirito… that’s a really strange name. Doesn’t sound like Earth Kingdom, or Water Tribe. Sounds closest to a Fire Nation name to her, really. But that doesn’t mean a lot. If he was Fire Nation, his features would be a little different. And he would recognize what the Avatar is. But his name isn’t the only odd thing about him.
His black wings suddenly unfurl against his back, and Korra gasps in surprise. For a moment she thinks it could be a prelude to some kind of weird attack, she’s never seen anything like that. Except on a dragonfly. But he doesn’t seem to be a dragonfly, of course. When his wings unfold, she moves into a sudden aggressive stance. Her feet spread and her fists held out towards him, her body hunched forward a little. She almost attacks… again… but holds her hand. “What… what the heck are those… what are you?” She says as she stares at his wings.
While Korra is quick to act (often in a wrong manner), Naga is often a better judge of people. Well some people. By now Korra is very confused, but Naga seems to be trying to figure things out. Naga moves suddenly, lumbering towards Kirito. Her head is tilted up as she walks, sniffing at the air as she approaches him. Once she is fairly close to him, she lets out a low rumbling growl in warning. Korra stares at Naga, knowing that sometimes she has better instincts about such things. Sometimes. And since she has no idea what’s happening… why not let Naga try?
Naga stops just in front of Kirito, and she sniffs heavily at his face and neck. She keeps her dark eyes on his, as if silently warning him that she would bite him in half if he made any sudden movements. She probably could too. She leans forward slightly, sniffing at his wings as she stands before him. She looks back to Kirito, and she suddenly starts to pant as she licks his face once. Of course that covers about half of his face. Her head bows down a little as her tail wags back and forth. One of Korra’s eyebrows perk up as she watches the scene. She feels a little better knowing Naga trusts him. She hopes it isn’t a mistake.
Korra moves from her Firebending stance back into the Earthbending stance fluidly, and she draws her arms in abruptly. The stone walls erected around Kirito suddenly drive themselves back into the ground. The areas they protruded from of course looks disturbed, the grass seeming a little out of place. Korra then starts to walk towards them as she speaks, still seeming none to amused. “Okay, if Naga can trust you, I guess I can give you a chance too. Don’t make me regret it.” She says in warning. She stops about 10 feet from him, her hands on her hips as she speaks. “My name’s Korra of the Southern Water Tribe, daughter to Tonraq and Senna.” She glances around once more as she continues. “Okay… I took a little nap, and suddenly Naga and I wake up here.” Her bright blue eyes move back to Kirito. “I thought we were in the Earth Nation, but that doesn’t feel right. None.. of this feels right.” Though she’s being halfway friendly now to him, there’s still an edge of firmness and intimidation in her voice. As if she is afraid to give an inch. She doesn’t even approach him, really. She keeps a short distance.

The gasp and sudden movement from her causes him to wince, closing his eyes tight, bracing himself a moment. When nothing happens, he slowly lowers the brace. Rightly so, she wants to know what those are, what he is. "Ano...I guess I'm half fairy in this place..I played a game once when I had these wings. They appear and disappear as i need them. They let me fly, but I swear I'm a human!."
Kirito's attention now shifts, watching the Bear-Dog approach him. His eyes go wide of growing anxiety and anticipation. He remained completely still as it approached. When it let the growl out, he gulped. Korra would likely have noticed that despite being armed, he didn't want to hurt what he assumed to be her mount.
His eyes met the dogs, on several instances during the apparent inspection. Soem where in his gut, he could tell this animal had a conenction to Korra. This beast was no ordinary companion. After looking long and hard once more into the creatures eyes, it started panting and gave him a large lick on his face, wetting a good half of it. As it remained there Kirito reached up slowly and carefully, moving to scratch its ears. What ever this was to Korra, thankfully, it was on his side, for now.
His eyes then go back to Korra as he watches her change stances again, once more into that steady, powerful stance, noting that with her motions the earth prison around him fell back into place around the earth, like nothing had happened. Kirito looked around where the earth walls were, still in wonder at this feat. This seemed much smoother than what any magic he knew in any RPG could do. From what he heard from her talking, the dog bear was named Naga. "Hello Naga," he says continuig to pet the creature.
She went on to explain her name was Korra..of a southern water tribe? He slowly got up as she started to speak, "So you took a nap too! so there's something in common! No, that's what I was saying before I heard you, something is not right, I mean..Water tribe, Earth Nation? I come from Japan and I've never heard of such places..." He then goes onto what was more pressing on his mind. "How do you do that? With the ground..and those stances? Ive never seen anything like it before, and I've seen my fair share of magic in RPG's before. It's like the ground was moving with your body..with such ease....does that have something to do with you being an 'Avatar'?" He was trying to put two and two together with what little information he had, as he was truthfully rather fascinated that by simple change of stance for her, she could seemingly command the earth. What else could this woman do?

Korra’s head tilts a little to one side as she watches Naga and Kirito. Good ‘ol Naga, she’s such a lifesaver. In more ways than one. She just sauntered right up to Kirito and decided he was a good guy. Well at least that he was trust worthy. She has often said she wished that Naga could talk, because she has a feeling her mount would be a wealth of wisdom. As it is… she is just Naga’s best friend, and vise versa.
Naga leans heavily into Kirito as he scratches her behind her ear. Oh how she did love when her humans did that. She thinks that perhaps Kirito has also become her human. How delightful for him! Naga now sits next to Kirito on her backlegs, and she snaps to attention when she hears her name from his lips, her ears perking up and her head tilting to one side. Even as he gets up out of the grass she continues to sit there next to him, probably a good foot taller than him still.
Korra’s arms cross over her midsection as Kirito and Naga get acquainted. She’s going to have to start somewhere to figure out where they are… what this place is. And as Kirito addresses her, she looks towards him out of the corner of her eyes, those eyes partially concealed behind strands of dark hair. “Yeah.. I was training, it was late… so I laid down next to Naga” Naga looks towards Korra when she hears her name, and then looks back towards Kirito, leaning into his petting. “I passed out, and when I came too.. well we were here. And then we found you.” She says as she shrugs her shoulders, a kind of clueless tone in her voice. “Johpan? I’ve never heard of that..” But then there’s a lot of the world she hasn’t seen. But when he asks of her skills.. a small sly smile creeps onto her lips. She does love to brag.
“Kinda has to do with me being the Avatar. See… um…” She glances up, as if the words she is looking for is written on some clouds. “Where I’m from, there’s this martial art called ‘Bending’. A lot of people can do it, after training. Everyone does a specific kind of Bending…” as she names them off she holds a finger up. “Waterbending, Earthbending, Firebending and Airbending. Your family’s heritage determines which you can do.” She now looks back to him, her tone taking on that bragging ‘how awesome am I’ feel to it. “The Avatar can do all four, though. It’s kind of a religious thing… like one Avatar every generation… having the knowledge of every Avatar before you… that kinda thing.” Yeah, a little more to it than that. A lot more to it, actually. “So the different disciplines requires different stances and practices to use.” She says with a nod, seeming to forget for a moment that she could be talking to the enemy. But the likelihood of that gets further and further from her mind… “What about this… Johpan? You guys do Bending there too, right? Is that why ya carry a sword around?” She says motioning to his blade.

Kirito listened in to Korras' explanation of her side, rather fascinated by it all. "So there is a country for each school of this 'bending'? So then the Avatar..Is like some kind of peacekeeper then? Must be tough..having the knowledge of all the ones before you...But wait..If you're here..what about your world?" He said it matter of factually, it was clear they came from very different worlds. At least they shared nearly the same language, the funny thought, running through his head 'am I speaking her language, or is she speaking mine?' He couldn't help but chuckle at her pronunciation of Japan though the laugh faded as his world was quite lame by comparison to hers..
"Well," He starts, "No one does..bending in my world...the world you described..it sounds amazing..my world..its all technology. See I thought this was game at first because in my world..children and adults of all kinds play in Virtual reality games....Games that let you feel and pretend like you're something else. Like a great swordsman..or a fantastic mage. What I'm wearing here..and these swords.." He reaches both hands back, a second, lighter colored sword appears on his back, tealish color in look, he draws both of them out. "These are from a game called Sword Art Online..though It wasn't a game..."
He very clearly begins to dive into thought and recollection, a few tears forming in his eyes. "Games are supposed to be for fun...This games creator though..made it a death game.." The hands grip on his blades tighten in memory. "In the game, IF you die, it should be no big deal, you come back to life at a checkpoint. He made it so if you died in the game..your body died in real life..out of Ten thousand people that got trapped in this, over four thousand died..."
He continued on in thought, "I became one of the front liners though, trying to prove that we COULD beat that death game, and everyone could have freedom. Eventually it finally happened, I died that day...but I killed him, I beat the final boss and freed everyone. Some how, some reason, I survived, despite dying..and It appears here..I have my skills from that game...While I'm no amazing bender like you Korra..at least I'm decent with some swords... other than that I'm a normal seventeen year old schoolboy..no bending, no skills..nothing special..."

A country for each school of Bending… it sounds kind of right, but that just doesn’t jive with her. She taps her chin in thought, and she then speaks in a soft tone. “Well like… if you’re born in the Earth Kingdom, and you can do Bending, you’ll be an Earthbender. Same with the Fire Nation and the Water Tribes. They’re different countries. The Avatar isn’t a peacekeeper persay… the purpose of the Avatar is to keep balance in the world, between all of the nations and the spirit world. So yea, pretty important for me to get back..” Ever since she could remember, she wanted nothing more than to be the Avatar. She knew how important it was, and she considered it an honor to have such responsibility. Until she realized she couldn’t Airbend. At all. Still, she knows she needs to be back on her world, in Republic City and training with Tenzin. Her world needs the Avatar..
She listens intently as Kirito speaks of his world. And at first she follows it. For about 7 words, and then he begins to lose her. And then really lose her. Technology.. like Satomobiles and radios, right? Virtual reality… no clue. Games that let you pretend you’re something else.. that sounds just weird. Why would you want to be someone else? She keeps her eyes on him as he continues, but it’s almost like her eyes kind of glaze over as she tries to follow him. She steps back a step as he unsheathes the swords, looking them over intently. She then looks back to him, that same confused look on her face.
“So this.. pretend thing.. you play it to be someone else, and you were this swordsman fella? And you were really really good, and if your other person got killed playing the game, you died? Wow.. that sounds pretty awful..” It’s obvious she’s trying very hard to follow what he says. But where she’s from, games are riding otter penguins and building snow castles. But in the big scope of things… Kirito would be considered the ‘city boy’ and Korra the ‘country girl’.
She motions to his swords and speaks in an unbelieving tone. “You don’t have to be an amazing Bender to be amazing. I mean if you’re good with those swords, heck that’s way more than I could ever do. I tried usin swords once and almost cut off my ponytail.” She says with a small smile, reaching up and ruffling her ponytail. “Plus… you have those.. wings… things. That’s more than anyone I know has, I mean anyone who isn’t a dragonfly.” She says with a nod.
She reaches up and pats his shoulder, now speaking in a confident tone. “So we’re both stranded here by someone, and we’re meant to help out here. So we stick together, you do the winging and the swinging, I’ll do the Bending. And Naga can do whatever she does.” Naga’s tail sways back and forth more quickly when she hears her name, and she gives Kirito another big lick across half his face. Korra nods “There ya go. She can give people kisses. That’ll help, probably. So let’s figure out where we are, first. There’s water nearby, and maybe peoples. Want we should go find ‘em?” It is odd that she mentioned that they were meant to help here. How would she possibly know such a thing?

The expression on Korra's face was kinds cute when he realized he had long lost her in his explanation, getting Kirito to grin a little before coming back to the reality of it. "The virtual reality is like...falling asleep and waking up in a different life. That's why I thought we were in another game. It felt just like it. It's like living in art..but...yea when Sword Art Online ruined it..all those deaths...It became a...It became a nightmare.."
She then took a sort of offensive on the negative cloud hanging over him. Watching her smile and ruffle her pony tail was cute, it prompted a small smile from Kirito. She comments on his wings, which widens his smile and puts a small blush on his face. He normally took a complement well, but for some reason coming from her, is made him feel a way only Asuna at that point had. As she said, it became clear, they were a sort of team. He managed a small chuckle when Naga gave him her team contribution with a lick to the face.
As Korra mentioned based on the area it looked like, and water nearby, there had to be some kind of settlement along the way. He was sincerely hoping that whatever was here was civilized and even moreover, they they could understand them. Then, they may have noticed his head turn quickly raising his swords up to a more than passive stance. "Who's there?!" In a flash he dashed off to some taller grass. His speed was phenomenal as he cut the grass revealing a scout of sorts. Kirito's speed really caught the man off guard as he was on his back with the tip of his black sword at the mans throat.
"What are you doing here?! Why are you.." He then notices a pillar of smoke rising up from what looks like a nearby village, causing him to call back, "Korra! somethings happening over there! It looks like some kind of attack!" He looked down and glared at the scout, then at Korra, before back to the Village a short ways away.

Korra smiles a little seeing his reactions. He’s kind of cute when he’s all embarrassed. She thinks it’s rather charming, really. Usually guys who use swords primarily are asses, or so it’s been her experience. But he seems okay, heck even Naga seems to like him. At almost the same time Kirito notices someone in the grass, Naga’s ears perk up and she looks in the direction he looks. “What’s wrong? Who’s—“ Korra’s words are cut off by a soft gasp as Kirito suddenly moves, slicing away the growing grass in a second. She’s genuinely taken back by his utter speed. She’s fast, but in the short distance he’d probably beat her. Soundly. Naga is right behind Kirito, growling ferociously at the scout. Korra looks around slowly as she frowns thoughtfully, wondering how many more are hiding out there. If she could Airbend, it’d be easy enough to find out. But as it is.. Korra hears Kirito’s call to her, and her gaze snaps towards him, and then passed him towards the pillar of smoke. Her eyes narrow, her teeth grit as she realizes someone is in trouble. Nothing makes her more angry than when someone is attacking another. And while she doesn’t know any of the story, she knows she doesn’t like it. She takes off in a sudden sprint towards the small group, trying to see the trouble in the distance. “We’re going!” She declares as she stops abruptly behind Kirito. Her left leg raises up as her hands swoop low. She slams her foot down and her hands sweep backwards and up as she stares at the scout. The earth under him shifts, and then solid stone shoots up all around him and embraces him. Essentially leaving him trapped in a stone prison, to the point he can’t move. He struggles as Korra walks passed Kirito, pointing towards the scout. “Stay.” She pulls herself up onto Naga, and she reaches down, grabbing Kirito by the collar to pull him up onto the saddle with her. “Let’s go!” Naga lets out a huff as Kirito is pulled on, and then she takes off. Korra grasps her reins and leans forward as she exclaims “Kirito hang onto me! Naga, go! Faster!” Naga’s large form runs and bounds through the grass effortless, and despite her size she moves remarkably fast. After just a moment they would see what looks like a poor fishing village. Small poorly built boats in the bay leading to a vast river that leads to the horizon. The homes of the village look like they could fall apart if hit with to hard a wind. But they are resilient, having been there for generations. Sadly, some of the houses are now on fire. The villagers look human, clad in the kind of clothing you’d expect in the tropical regions of earth. Bright color, light fabrics, loose fitting. Certainly appropriate for the lives of fishermen and their families. But there are those out of place. Dozens of blue armored beings, moving slowly and methodically through the village. It’s obvious they are the aggressors here, shoving aside protesting villagers. They almost seem to be looking for something. They carry what look like advanced crossbows, the bolts glowing softly. Obviously made of energy, perhaps. More than a few wear what look like flamethrowers on their gauntlets, flames licking at the barrels of the armor. Korra narrows her eyes as she draws back on the reins, causing Naga to slow to a slow gallop, and then a walk. They are still about 100 feet from the perimeter of the village, and yet to be seen. Korra sits up in her saddle, her anger building. “What is going on here.. what are they doing to those poor people?”

With a cute sort of yelp, Kirito was swiped off onto Naga. The beast was fast, faster than Kirito had ever fathomed. When they arrived, Kirito couldn't help but feel a familiar feeling. The need to fight, to defend those people. "I don't know what they're doing..but it needs to stop, now!" Kirito dismounted from Naga and raced into the village.
The first scene Kirito happened upon was a cornered family, A husband, his wife and two young children. The man of the family was unarmed, but still, he stood before the armored man, who had a formidable blade in hand. Formidable, though it looked like a sort of standard issue.
"Where are the Spirit blades?" "The wha? I don't know what you're talking about" The man is struck as he claims ignorance, "Don't play dumb, This village used to house the four sages. Do you want your family to suffer, your village to perish? the Shadow of War needs the four blades. Fire, Water, Earth, Air. With them together, a power like no other can be assmebled. The ability to command the elements of life, and by that right, save Spira form the return of Sin." "I told you I dont know! the closest thing that we have that resembled weapons are our fishing spears. Please, call off this attack!" "You're lying" "no, please, no, I'm not!" the Armored man raises his blade "Watch closely children, this is where your father teaches you never to lie to the Shadow of War"
As the blade comes down, in an instant, the blade shatters as Kirito springs into action with his own blades disarmingthe man and stirking several blows into the mans armor.
This draws the attention of several nearby troops. "You savages, attacking innocent people, shame on you!" Both of Kirito's blades start to glow, reminiscent of activating a sword skill, though in this world, any that could tell would see it was life essence. This was real, his own energy was being put into his blades, empowering them with strength that one would not expect out of his small frame. In a flurry of blades, steel clashed and fighting occurred. Kirito's true skill with those blades showed in his restraint from inflicting lethal injury upon the soldiers of this "Shadow of War". "Korra! the fires! we need to get people to safety!" He called out among the fighting. Korra could tell at the rate he was drawing aggro from the soldiers, he might possibly become over whelmed, though for now, he appears to be doing a damn good job of taking on at least five or more of them at once.

Korra glances over her shoulder as Kirito dismounts, and then runs towards the village. Korra smirks as she slides off of Naga, calling out. “Now we’re talkin!” She darts after him, though she can’t quite run as fast as he.
She sees the same scene he does.. someone in blue armor harassing people. A family, she would guess. Now she’s sure she’s pissed. Her instincts were right. It’s an injustice, what she sees here. And it’s her duty, her destiny, to right such wrongs. She doesn’t think she or Kirito can get there in time, so she spins around as she runs, her hands drawing into her sides. But before she can unleash an attack of flames… Kirito seems to suddenly be right on top of them. Her eyes widen as she skids/stumbles to a halt, watching him work in awe.
“Wow” she says softly as he saves the family, and then gains the attention of others. She just stands there watching him, her eyes wide. He’s really something… now she’s sure he was underestimating his value. He’s friggin incredible! Way faster and better with blades than she could ever hope to be! But Korra is no slouch either..
She comes out of her daze as he calls out to her, and she blinks as she looks towards the burning buildings. Oh right, the fires! And this is a fishing town… so it’s right on the river. Hell yeah. Korra darts towards one of the burning homes as she points towards Kirito “Naga!” She barely got the name out before the large beast is on the move. While Naga might just be a polar bear dog, she knows when someone is in danger. Not such a far distance from Kirito and in his line of sight, Naga roars as she bats away a few of the soldiers, sending them flying with impressive strength. Naga moves towards a young woman cowering in fear next to one of the buildings, roaring a warning to the armored men who are near. Naga tries to urge the girl to move, nudging her with her nose. The girl seems unafraid, perhaps knowing Naga is there to help.
Korra gets to the water’s edge, and she stands facing the water. Her eyes close as she slows her breathing, and she raises her arms up slowly at her sides. She lowers them casually, keeping them spread out. And then she raises them once more, and when she does the very water seems to swell, rocking some of the boats docked there. Korra’s body leans forward, one foot outstretched in front of the other. One hand is raised towards the water, her relaxed hand held out towards it. Her other hand remains at her hip. She draws her body back in a fluid, graceful motion as she pivots on her heels. She then thrusts her hands forward towards one of the burning buildings… and a column of water launches forward from behind her in the river, the column easily 50 feet high. It almost looks like a giant snake made of water, rearing up there in the air. One hand draws out towards her side, the other thrusting forward as she leans forward, her feet shoulder length apart. The water snake lurches forward, launching itself towards the first burning building. It goes through the damaged open roof, dousing the flames as it curls through the whole of the small house. Black smoke now is all that comes from the house, and the water snake draws itself back up out of the house. Korra turns towards another building and repeats the process, her every movement flowing and rhythmic. Like a softly churning creek in the middle of the forest.
The fires taken care of… Korra sees Kirito is about to get overwhelmed. She draws her arms back and then thrusts them forward towards a small group of armored men heading towards Kirito, swords drawn. The 4 men are doused in water… and Korra snaps her fists closed. As soon as she does, the water all around those armored men freezes solid, holding them in thick ice. She sees another trooper who notices her, and she sprints towards him, some of the water now circling her as she moves her arms in steady motions. She thrusts her hands towards him… but he uses his flamethrower to turn the water into steam before it ever comes close. He then launches flame again at the oncoming Korra…
And she runs right into the torrent of red and orange dancing flames. She holds her hands forward and together… the fire seeming to part for her. The flamethrower takes a few steps back as Korra drives through his normally impenetrable offense, and then he finds himself covered in flames. Korra turns his own fire back onto his armored form.. but of course it doesn’t hardly effect him. Obviously being what he is, his armor is specially treated to resist heat. She hears him laugh at her efforts, and she smirks as she springs back a few steps. “Fireproof, huh?” She stomps at the ground with one foot… and a boulder shoots up from the ground right in front of her, one about 2 feet wide. She spins and kicks the large stone, hitting the flamethrower square in the chest. With a grunt he falls, the stone crumbling on top of him. She smirks once more as she bounces lightly on her feet.
“Not rock proof, are ya jerk?”

The armored men seemed taken back, almost in awe of the combined efforts of the two people and the polar bear-dog.One who seemed to be a commanding officer called for the group to fall back as an airship swooped in from the clouds. They fire off what looked like ziplines, abandoning those who look dead or injured, though one commanding officer and his associate take a last long look at Korra. Kirito noticed this, trying to figure out what their sudden fixation is on her as they too finally zip off, and the airship vanishes from sight.
Kirito exhales as he sheaths the swords on his back, slowly the remaining villages that took cover started coming back out. it is an uneasing quiet, murmuring before cheers of praise come from those left. "Thank you strangers..whoever you are..thank you..you saved our village!" Kirito looked back around at the villagers attackers that he incapacitated. None of them appeared to have any life in them. As far as they could tell, they were dead.
"Why did they attack you? That guy over there, was talking about some kind of sacred swords? some Kind of Spirit Blades." The man from earlier with his family steps forward, clearly the villages head, "Fist, what you need to know is those people are the Shadows of War. They have been traveling all over Spira spreading fear propaganda that Sin's return is inevitable, and with cooperation from the people, they can get the power possible to end Sin once and for all. Many of us think that is all bogus power play and terrorism. We all saw the death of Sin..anyway..on to their latest fixation.."
He takes as seat as if its story time , some other villagers sit and all are listening intently. "A long time ago, this village was home to four very powerful mages. They were called the Avatars of Life, each mage wielding the power of one of the four elements of life: Water, Fire, Earth, and Air. They served as Spira's protectors before the time of Sin and the Summoners. They lived through a great age, their power was more than well known. Each one individually was a master of their element, but together..their power was untouchable."
He continued, "It was like they were spirits who aided us more than mere men and women, because as they entered their final days, they had four swords made, claiming their power would remain with the people forever. They said as they faded form existence, that only united by Swordsman of Spirit would the blades yield to command, ere the power flee in the face of corruption. Oro the Conqueror, from our very village many moons ago, took these blades, claiming the world would be his. The power left the blades just as foretold and left him looking the part of a fool."
Then he neared the end of his story as it would appear, evident by his tone of voice, "Sages that followed the order of the old Avatars took the blades and hid them, leaving this scroll, with a magic seal, only the true swordsman would be able to open this. What may be written on it, we don't know, because to this day, no Swordsman of Spirit has yielded his or herself to us..."
Kirito thought long and hard, taking in the villagers story, "That helps us more than you know sir, thank you. We're not from what this world appears to be, but learning everything we can helps." He gives a bow, as per his Japanese habits before turning to Korra, fixing to say something before the Village head calls out to Kirito one last time. " Take the scroll swordsman, you are by far the best swordsman I've ever seen, selfless at that, taking on all those men for our village, people you don't even have the slightest clue about!. If you're not the swordsman of Spirit, then i have no doubt you'll find them otherwise."
"Kirito..my name is Kirito" "Thank you, then, Swordsman Kirito, for everything, and you too" He motions to Korra, as the whole village bows in gratitude, the bow a little different form Kiritos as they make ano dd motion with their hands and arms, as if holding some kind of Sphere. Kirito takes the scroll and stores it in his jacket for the time being, finally turning back to Korra, "Perhaps we should find a place to set up camp? Its starting to get late." He says to her, with an oddly soft and comfortable smile. He couldn't explain it, but some how he felt comfortable with her, despite their rough start earlier.

Korra’s eyes dart upwards as she hears the airship descending, and she then sees those lines being shot from the bottom of its haul. Not unlike the Metalbender cops airships. “No you don’t!” She exclaims as she runs towards the one who called for retreat. She could use elevation right now.. but to Earthbend to get up higher would take too long. And running back to the water would take longer. So, frustrated, all she can do is try to stop them. Now if she could Airbend.. the fight would still be on in earnest. As they are lifted up towards the airship, Korra grits her teeth and punches her fists towards them in quick jabbing motions. And at the end of each punch, balls of flame fire towards the ship. She nearly hits the ‘commanding’ officer, and another. She even hits the ship once, though it’s too far up for any damage.
Her hands lower as she catches her breath, staring at the airship as it disappears into the horizon. For a moment she considers getting Naga and giving chase… but she feels like that would be a futile effort. As fast and agile as Naga is, the Metalbender cop airships were able to outmaneuver her. She huffs in frustration as she now looks towards the village itself, and the now emerging villagers. She turns slowly, making her way back towards Kirito. Naga runs up to them and nuzzles Korra immediately, and Korra in return hugs Naga’s head gently. “It’s okay, girl. We’re okay.” She says softly, looking towards Kirito out of the corner of her eyes as he speaks to the villagers. She smiles a little as they are thanked.. and that makes Korra feel good. She knows she’s supposed to do her ‘job’ without wanting thanks or reward, but sometimes it’s nice to know people are grateful to you.
Korra looks towards the fallen armored men (she assumes they’re men of course, or at least human) as the village leader speaks. He says they’re called ‘Shadows of War’… yeah doesn’t sound like a nice group of folks. He speaks of Spira, and Sin and it’s return.. and about terrorism. She’s heard that word a lot in the last few weeks. Her mind and gaze drifts a little as he takes a seat there on the ground… but then his words catch her full attention. Her eyes dart back towards him as he speaks of these Avatars… and about them each having power over the elements. They were Benders? Here? A little confused she glances at Kirito, and then back towards the village leader.
She looks down towards the ground as she thinks, as the elder speaks of the hidden blades, and a Swordsman of Spirit. She absently rubs Naga behind her ears as she half listens, her mind focusing on the part about the sages. There seems to be all of these pieces of a puzzle… and somehow she feels like they all fit together. Their appearance… those bad guys… the story of sages and a Swordsman… something tells her that all of this is indeed connected. But she can’t hear that particular voice yet.
She then hears Kirito’s voice and she looks up, standing just behind him. There is a look of concern on her features, her mind still wandering. She blinks as he bows, and she does also (though her bow is different, of course), and she starts to move off with him. But the elder calls out once more, and Korra looks over her shoulder to him. She half turns, and as she is motioned too she speaks in a soft tone, a small smile on her lips. “I’m Korra.” She says simply. She still stares at the villagers as they bow as one, not seeming to hear Kirito for a moment. But finally she looks towards him “Hm? Oh.. yeah.. place to camp.” She turns with him and starts to walk away from the village, glancing over her shoulder towards them once more. Naga follows close behind them, seeming happy enough to do so.
Once they are a bit away from the village, Korra finally speaks in something of an annoyed tone. “So you don’t think this is all really really strange? You and me.. a swordsman and a Bender… just suddenly blink into this place not far from a village being attacked. And then they tell us about other Benders and Spirit Swordsman? They needed our help, and we happen to be right here? There’s to many coincidences…” She says as she sighs, looking ahead of them. She motions towards a small grove of trees near the river’s edge, and speaks in a softer tone. “That’d be a good camp spot..”

Kirito listened to Korra as she spoke, and what she said really made sense. "Yea its...really weird. Its like this was all predicted. I agree, this is much more than coincidence." As they made their way down, Kirito turned to the polar bear dog companion, "What do you think Naga?" Naga let out a bark and licked the side of his face again as they walked, "Guess we know her opinion"
Kirito was trying to keep optimistic. The villagers message was, rather cryptic in all honesty. as they moved along he used a sword to cut some good wood, collecting it to be used as fire wood. "So Korra, anything on your mind you wanan talk about? We may not come formthe same worlds but..I guess we have some things in common...and I'd really like to get to know you more."
He turned red, thinking he sounded like a schoolboy being flirty with the new girl, but she was attractive after all, and if they were going to be saving worlds together, they may as well enjoy each others presence. Kirito then looked around the grove, finding a good spot under a tree with short, thick grass. they would be able to sleep somewhat comfortably when they would finally decide to. They would just need to clear a space for Fire, and fine something to collect water in. For now, he set the wood down and leaned on a tree, listening to Korra's responce.

Korra seemed rather pensive as they walked, seeming distracted by her own thoughts. She can’t get out of her head what the village chief said. People who controlled elements… they saved this world, from what she had gathered. Is that why they were here? Maybe they need to put a stop to these Shadow people..
Absently she takes the chopped wood from Kirito every once in a while to help him carry it, her half open eyes watching the grassy field in front of her. Naga stayed close behind them, of course, sniffing at the air every few moments as if expecting someone to pop out of the grass at any moment. When she hears her name she looks towards him out of the corner of her eyes. “Hm? Talk about?” She shrugs her shoulders as she looks ahead of them once more, taking another piece of chopped firewood from his arms as she speaks. “There’s not really a whole lot to me. I’ve been doing nothing but training my whole life to be the Avatar… I mean that’s all I am. Nothing else, really.” She says as she shrugs once more, her tone a bit sullen.
She sets down the firewood in the middle of their little grove, but she stacks it so each piece is leaning up against another piece. Should make it so that there’s plenty of airflow through the stack of wood. She then thrusts her fist at the stack of wood as she stands, and a burst of flame is directed from her hand to the base of the wood. She maintains it for a few seconds, and then stops. The wood begins to burn slowly on it’s own, and she smiles a little. “There… now food..”
She turns to face the close river, and she cracks her knuckles as she speaks. “I don’t know, Kirito. I mean like I said.. there isn’t a whole lot to me. I’m just a kind of uncomplicated Water Tribe girl.” Naga gallops to the water and bounds right into it. Almost 3 seconds after she enters the water, she has a fish in her mouth. She carries it back to shore and flops down. Slowly the polar bear dog begins to eat her dinner, her ears perked up as she watches Korra and Kirito. “So does this still feel like one of your.. visual reality games?”
